For 25 years, the local Boys & Girls Clubs of Acadiana have been strengthening young minds in Acadiana. We have also seen this first hand for the last three years! Every year there are over 20 thousand floating ducks pushed down the slide at Red Lerille’s Health & Racquet Club. The ducks go through the pool down the lazy river location and someone holds a suction tube; the first 17 ducks making it through the tube are documented with a number on the bottom & chosen as the WINNERS OF 17 amazing prizes listed here. great event for an amazing cause benefiting 6 local clubs in our area! Two events also new to the roster will bring local band River Gibson playing an acoustic performance at the pool around 10:30am till the ducks move down the slide! There will also be a chance to bid on many celebrity signed ducks at the first inaugural “Disco Duck” party at Scandals Nite Club on Thursday March 19, 2015 starting at 7:30pm. This is your chance to “cut a rug” on the dance floor with “Quacky” the duck! Your admission to the party will be a $5 duck adoption at the door the night of the event! This event is exactly one week before the race! Celebrity signature ducks include names such as Hunter Hayes, Jamie Bergeron, local artist, Tony Bernard, Jake Delhomme, & many more.

This year marks the 25th anniversary of this event. In addition to many amazing prizes It takes a great deal of community & business support to bring this event to the public. (you know who you all are) This year the Running of the Ducks mascot “Quacky” has been busy! And on March 28, 2015 he will also be busy at the finish line of the Inaugural Running of the Ducks 5K rooting on many local walkers and running supporters starting at 9pm! The 5K will start at Corner Bar in Lafayette, LA and will follow a course throughout the local Horse Farm location ending at The actual Ducks Race around 10:30am on the morning of March 28, 2015!
